One of the best content management systems around; especially for civic applications.
Drupal is software that allows an individual or a community of users to easily publish, manage and organize a great variety of content on a website. Tens of thousands of people and organizations have used Drupal to set up scores of different kinds of web sites, including
- community web portals and discussion sites
- corporate web sites/intranet portals
- personal web sites
- aficionado sites
- e-commerce applications
- resource directories

Part of my new Job at the Arts and Humanities Data Centre (ADHS) at King’s College, London is to further develop an online guide for Arts and Humanities researchers called ICT Guides. ICT Guides lists methods that are used by the Arts and Humanities in the creation of digital resources. It’s an extensive guide and my task is to populate it with more methods (it currently contains about 150). The methods listed in the guide concern the creation of digital content, its capture, analysis, structure, and presentation. The guide also contains resources for training, pointers to the tools available, and case studies. Later down the track it is hoped that the guide can be used to promote collaboration within the Digital Humanities community through the use of online collaborative tools such as SAKAI. I would be interested to hear your comments on the guide; especially in terms of refining the editorial policy.

Sorry that I have been quiet of late, but I am on the way to start my new job at the Arts and Humanities Data Service at King’s College, London. I start on the 24th, but I couldn’t get a plane out of Bangkok so I am ’stuck’ on a tropical island in the bay of Thailand called Ko Samet. There are lots of palm trees, white beaches, margaritas, and bad pop music here (you know the scene). Hope you are well and I’ll be back into it on the 24th Jan. (strange, I haven’t posted much for a month but last month I had the highest traffic ever).
**Peace**
Craig
